phragmentation

I like to use Paralink when looking for a quick translation of something, but the only Italian option is into Russian, which is fine for me since I speak Russian. So I input this paragraph:

Appartamento ad uso civile abitazione elevato al primo piano e composto da cucina, soggiorno, camera e bagno. A corredo vano ad uso cantina a cui si accede anche direttamente dall’esterno.

The Russian came back quite good (but due to MSAccess lameness, I can’t print Russian here), which I in turn translated into English:

An apartment in civil use as a residence, situated on the first floor and comprising a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. An empty space in use as a basement, to which there is direct external entry.

This being a russian site primarily, their translation into English is somewhat more awkward:

An apartment in civil use the apartment, raised in the foreground is made by kitchen, stay, chamber - a bath. In corredo emptiness in use a cellar in which it approaches also directly external party.

But just for kicks, I ran it through Babelfish:

Apartment to civil use room elevated to the Association of Bologna and composed from kitchen, stay, room and bath. To vain equipment to use wine cellar which it is approached directly also from the outside.

Both sites had trouble with “corredo” but where did they get Bologna from??

UPDATED: More babelfish baloney, this time from Dutch. Why do they seem to have such a hard time translating INTO English?? Are they even worse into other languages?
