went to bed just as the sun was rising and woke up at noon. just as well though since today was a rainy one. i did get out on the bicycle eventually around 5 pm and rode up to where the big park is. very nice indeed and montreal drivers are so courteous! a truck driver even apologized for knocking over the bike where it was locked up. He had put it back up and it was fine. who knew? found more stores and interesting places, so came home, changed into jeans and walked to the produce shop down the street. They had everything I needed — including cheese curds — the mystery poutine ingredient!

So tonight’s dinner is a slightly healthier version: Yams, broccoli and bacon (my favorite protein source) — but I sliced some of the fat off. And then added the cheese bits AFTER turning off the heat, so they merely softened instead of caramelized.

I also made a salad of red leaf lettuce (a HUGE bundle for a dollar — this big bowl of it barely made a dent in the head), tomato, apricots and almonds.

Tonight’s beer is Boreale Blanche, which i have to say isn’t nearly as good as the Cheval Blanc I had last night. I sort of expected that though since Boreale is advertised EVERYWHERE here.
