I keep meaning to drop Violet Blue’s blog off my list as her self-indulgent rants tend to get rather tiresome. Earlier this week she threw a little tantrum about John Paulos’ ABC article reviewing a paper from 2001 entitled A Theory of Prostitution. Maybe it was the “ABC” part that had her snapping, but I was intrigued enough to actually read the article and found it quite well written and interesting. Oh well, another fact-less VB rant… The next day she linked to her friend “waxing vixen” who wrote an equally unfounded if not even more embarrassingly inaccurate tizzy over the article and the paper (which she admitted to not having read).

Cut to dinner tonight at the Asgard (yes, we laugh everytime we say it, elongating the first syllable). Over bangers and hash, David and I discuss how penis size is relative to marriageability in men. That leads me to mention this interesting article about prostitution vs. marriage as a career choice, and how I wonder if maybe violet and the vixen were reading a different article since they didn’t seem to get what Paulos was saying. I sent the link to David and we read the entire study (25 pages + 10 pages of references and graphs). Here’s our response:
